Prelude

故事是从一个人，一个色调开始的。在2015年， Wasabi Winnie，曾经在一个美容店里租一个小角落，服务着美容店的顾客们。当时的顾客要求简单，也就只需要做个单色或简单的美甲款式而已。

The story begins with one person, one colour. In year 2015, Ms. Wasabi Winnie, started her small nail bar business within other’s beauty salon, by serving the beauty salon customers. At that time, the customer there usually just needed to do a plain colour manicure or simple nail design.

每当在空档的时间，Wasabi Winnie就会提起色笔尝试新设计。而当时的美甲颜色，就只有28瓶，要做设计是非常有限的。经过不断的自我提升，创新和努力，越来越多不同风格的顾客喜欢她的作品。短短半年内，美容店里小角落也容不完追随她作品的粉丝们了。

Whenever there was a spare time, Wasabi Winnie will always try to create different style of new nail design. While she just has only 28 bottle of nail colours, she never limits her challenge, she challenges her limit by keep trying different colour combination, self-improving and innovating, her hard work pays off! Maniqure 的名称由来，是源自于英文单词manicure，就是美甲手部护理的意思。希望透过简单的名字能让更多人认识Maniqure美甲店。大部分的美甲店都会以创办人的名字取名，Wasabi Winnie原本也想要以个人名称取名。最后，决定取名为 Maniqure，把个人魅力转移至着重团队的塑造上。

The name of Maniqure comes from the English word “manicure”, which means nail care and hand care. The naming of the nail salon is to easily let people know what services we are offering. Most of the nail salons are named after the owner. Initially, Wasabi Winnie wanted to be named after her own name. After the draft of the nail salon’s future vision and missions, she decided to name it as Maniqure, shifting the self-orientation focuses to brand-orientation focuses.

正式开业后的那几个月，有位顾客拿着手机上的晚装照片，要我们为她指甲制作类似的设计，完全呼应了我们Dress Up Your Nails的标语。透过美甲作品我们启发身边的每一个人，让大家知道，其实美甲的图腾设计是可以来自身边的人事物，于是开始了Maniqure的第一个美甲专辑 《Dress Up Your Nails》，以服装灵感为主题。

A few months after the nail salon started, a customer request us to create the nail design that borrow the design element concept from her dinner gown. She showed us the photo from her smartphone.

We are excited to customise the nail design for her, as it perfectly reflects to our Dress Up Your Nails tagline. Our mission is to inspire people to express themselves through manicure at any time and any place or anything around us, so we started Maniqure’s first nail album – Dress Up Your Nails in year 2016.

Nails That Tell a Story

在此之后，我们每隔两三个月定期推出新的美甲专辑。我们把美甲专辑想像成音乐唱片专辑一样，能够透过音乐，透过作词作曲说故事，而我们则透过美甲和你说故事。

Starting from that moment, we begin to tell story through nails. Every 2 to 3 months timeframe, we publish new nail album to tell story and inspire others. Just like the song albums that can tell the story through music and lyrics, we tell story through nails.

In 2018, Yanxi Palace Nails goes viral. Created by founder Wasabi Winnie and salon manager Ms. Jaslyn Hu, this nail album got more than ten thousand shared on our Facebook and circulate all over the Asian Chinese social media. We started to dream if one day we go beyond Malaysia, probably an international Maniqure branch in Singapore, China, Australia, or Philippines?

Mì nǚ gé

星巴克也有中文名称，日本名称，韩国名称，那么我们呢？Maniqure蜜女阁中文名称因此而诞生。蜜女阁是英文M，N，Q的谐音，而且每个字都深深包含了寓意，好比如一群闺蜜相约在阁楼里做美甲。

Starbucks has their own Chinese name, Japanese name, and Korean name, what about us? Therefore, we created our Chinese name “蜜女阁”. Each three Chinese character is meaningful for us.
